12-zeiliger Brief des englischen Schriftstellers und Dramatikers John Galsworthy an „Mr. Raffalovich“ (evtl. Marc-André Raffalovich). Der Brief wurde nach der Veröffentlichung des ersten Bandes der Forsyte-Saga („The Man of Property“) verfasst. Galsworthy dankt dem Adressaten für seine Bemerkungen und fügt hinzu: „Will you please assure Madame your mother that it gave me the greatest pleasure to mark the extraordinary insight which she had brought to the reading of this book, and the extraordinary sympathy. It was like having a talk with his own mind at the time of writing the book to read her articles.“
John Galsworthy ist vor allem für seine zwischen 1906 und 1921 veröffentlichte Roman-Trilogie (mit zwei Einschüben) „The Forsyte Saga“ bekannt. 1932 wurde ihm der Nobelpreis für Literatur verliehen.
