Unsere Soldaten. Relief-Bilderbuch für Kinder zum Selbstanfertigen. (Berlin: Hagelberg) Undated (c. 1880). 25 x 19,8 cm. Contains 7 lithographic plates with 97 mounted, chromolithographic die-cut sheets in relief/embossed print. 15 pp. (including title page). A paper pocket is mounted on the inside of the back cover, originally used to store the die-cut sheets. Colour-illustrated original cardboard cover featuring a portrait of Wilhelm II and the imperial regalia.
(Minor scuffing; shows some signs of wear. The inside is slightly discoloured and has water stains. The front title page bears a handwritten note.)

In this case, the die-cut sheets consist of figures of soldiers in various poses and engaged in different activities, some with horses or carts, as well as small trees and bushes, which could be assembled in their respective positions according to precise instructions.
