• How can i have my art appraised?

  If you wish to have artworks or books auctioned, the experts at our auction house will gladly provide a free and non-binding valuation of your items.

  You are welcome to contact our experts at any time to request an appraisal. Please use the consignment form for this purpose or reach out to our experts directly — further information is available here.

  If you intend to part with individual items or entire collections, arrange an appointment with our experts to present the pieces to us. For extensive collections, we are also happy to visit you at your home.

• When are consignments welcome?

  If you would like to have works of art or books auctioned, the two auctions in spring and autumn are ideal. The closing date for consignments is the end of January for the spring auctions and the end of July for the autumn auctions.

• What is being auctioned at Venator & Hanstein?

  We deal with printed works (books, brochures, broadsheets, etc.), graphics (prints, modern hand drawings), manuscripts and autographs; in simple terms: everything printed, drawn or written on paper.
  In recent years, we have also expanded our range to include modern and contemporary art.
