Rikli, Herbert: Hurra ! Ein Kriegs-Bilderbuch. Stuttgart: Loewe no date (1916). 29,5 x 22 cm. With numerous colour lithographic illustrations on 23 numbered leaves. Half-linen with a colour lithograph on the cover.
(The cover has a few minor signs of wear, and the edges are scuffed. The pages are slightly yellowed and have some spots in places.)

See Hobrecker 6383. – The first edition of this crudely humorous picture book; a popular edition of smaller format, comprising just 11 sheets, was published in the same year. - The works of the illustrator and commercial artist Rikli (1880–1939) are consistently characterised by a very black humour. In this picture book, " ... gleitet der Humor ab ins Makabre-Perverse, in dem Klein-Willi im Traum die Feinde des deutschen Vaterlandes reihum tötet (Schweizer Bilderbuch-Illustr, p. 63).
