Carl August von Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. Statuten des Grossherzoglich Sachsen-Weimarischen erneuerten Ritter-Ordens der Wachsamkeit oder vom weissen Falken. Weimar: no printer 1815. 25,2 x 20 cm. With an engraved, coloured frontispiece and an engraved coat of arms on the title page. 5 leaves. Red grained leather with a green title label, gold-embossed borders and spine decoration.
(Stained, cover mottled. Two water stains running along the outer edge. Tanned and showing slight signs of age.)
A rare print depicting the Order of the White Falcon, an order of merit established by Grand Duke Carl August in 1732 and renewed in 1815, which was one of the most significant orders of the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. An interesting document on the history of the House of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach and the Weimar court during Goethe’s time.
