A rare print relating to the Order of the White Falcon, an order of merit established by Grand Duke Carl August in 1732 and renewed in 1815, which was one of the most significant orders of the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. An interesting document on the history of the House of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach and the Weimar court during Goethe’s time. - From the Goethe collection of Edwin Redslob (bookplate on the verso of the flyleaf).
