With copperplate engravings of coats of arms, an illustrated title page, 9 illustrated running heads, numerous head and tail vignettes, and ornamented or illustrated initials. 128 leaves. Red leather binding with gilt spine and gilt edges.

Kaukol, was a court councillor and cabinet secretary to Clemens August, Elector of Cologne, to whom this work is dedicated; he was also an excellent calligrapher and an experienced copperplate engraver. One of the illustrated initials depicts a realistic view of Elector Clemens August’s residence. The initial illustration for the prayer ‘For Peace’ shows the Augustusburg Palace in Brühl. One of the finest calligraphic works of the 18th century.
