(Slightly rubbed; the spine cover is torn at the top cap; the joints are loose. A loose flyleaf with traces of mounting. Minimal signs of age and wear.)

It is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery dating from the Ming Dynasty, around 1560. Filchner explored the monastery and the surrounding countryside from around 1926. It is regarded as one of the six great monasteries of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism.
