Hirschberg S. 496. - The complete works of the storyteller and journalist Charles Sealsfield (1793–1864), who fled to the USA in 1823 and, whilst working as an editor at the New York-based *Courrier des Etats Unis*, eventually met Scott, Börne and Heine on trips to Paris and London. In his novels, he was the first German-speaking author to depict the emerging American nation against a backdrop of adventurous plots.
