Blue Original linen with gold embossing and a label on the back.
(Slightly rubbed, spine slightly tanned. The flyleaf of Vol. 1 is creased. One leaf in Vol. 2 has a small tear at the bottom edge. A few leaves have small areas where the paper has stuck together. Minimal signs of age and wear.)
A standard work on the development of Japanese colour woodblock prints. The first volume covers the early days up to Harunobu, the second volume covers developments up to Eishi, and the third volume ranges from the Sekien school to the style-defining masters of the Hiroshige school.
