Plate 4 of the Great Passion. Woodcut on laid paper with watermark ‘Name of Mary’ (Meder Wz. 316). 39,6 x 28,3 cm. Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 157; Meder 116, I (v. III), before the text edition of 1511. – A clear early print, though with significant damage to the paper, some of which has been poorly restored.
(A horizontal tear running through the centre of the sheet. Large areas missing in the corners and in the centre of the image along the left-hand edge. Further (marginal) tears and damage. Browned and stained. Collection stamp in the bottom right-hand corner.)
