Continuation of lecture notes, beginning at § 6 “Geistiger Neuerwerb” (Intellectual Development). The notes cover the ages of 9 to 13, addressing the topics of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, attitudes towards reality, theoretical and practical thinking, eidetic perception, sensory life, physical development, the self and the environment, play and social behaviour. For the ages of 15 to 19, there are discussions on methodology, sexuality and eroticism, adolescent love, religion and worldview, ethics and outlook on life, sociality, work and career, as well as personality and culture. – An insightful contemporary transcript of a lecture given by Charlotte Bühler in Vienna during the period central to her psychological theory of development. Bühler, who ranks among the most significant female psychologists of the 20th century, developed an independent, strongly empirically oriented developmental psychology, in which she understood human intellectual, social and personal development as a lifelong process.
