Bearing a wood cut of the printer’s mark on the title page and the last leaf, a wood cut vignette and numerous wood cut initials. 6 ll., 95 numbered leaves, 1 unnumbered leaf. Damaged paperback with covers from a manuscript on paper.

EDIT16 CNCE 49159. - Venetian edition of the first two books of Nifo’s commentary on Aristotle’s *Physics*. The philologist and philosopher Nifo (c. 1470–1538) is regarded as one of the most important Italian Aristotelians. As a scholar in the Paduan Aristotelian tradition, he combined Aristotelian natural philosophy with Averroist, and later also Neoplatonic and Thomist, positions. His extensive commentary on the *Physica* was completed as early as 1506 and was first printed in 1508; the present edition was published posthumously and contains the two books most recently revised by Nifo himself. Nifo taught at the universities of Padua, Naples, Rome and Pisa and is known in particular for his debate with Pietro Pomponazzi on the immortality of the soul.
