It contains a description of a measuring table by Schwenter’s teacher Johann Prätorius, as well as the German translation of Cammilo Raverta’s “Geometricum problema” . In this treatise, which is described as the “finest work of its kind” (ADB XXXIII, p. 414), Schwenter was one of the first mathematicians to use continued fractions.
