(Scuffed and dented. Cover stained. Tanned and with brown spots. The plates show some transfer marks and have remnants of the silk protective sheets stuck to them. The mounting sheets are stained with age spots.)
Palau III, S. 351. The German explorer, naturalist and painter A. Goering took part in two expeditions to South America in 1856 and 1866. He worked as a taxidermist, collected rare animals and recorded his impressions in drawings and landscape watercolours. He provided illustrations for various publications, including Brehm’s *Animal Life*. He did not publish his own travel accounts until 1893 in Leipzig.
