Foreword and captions for the illustrations in Spanish, German, French and English. Handwritten message on the flyleaf: ‘A Christmas greeting from Chile in 1950 to Adolf and Irene (from ?; illegible)’.
Gerstmann was an engineer, born in Vienna, who later became a photographer and emigrated to Chile in the 1930s.
