A small selection from the seven volumes (1925–1932) of the monthly ‘hervorragend dokumentierten Zeitschrift des deutschen Werkbundes’ (Bolliger). - After the journal had already appeared in four issues in 1922 but had ceased publication due to financial difficulties, a new attempt began in October 1925 with issue 1, under the direction of Walter Curt Behrendt. Behrendt remained editor until the end of 1926, when he was succeeded by Walter Riezler. In 1934/35, the journal was taken over by the National Socialists and subsequently discontinued. - “Informiert in umfassender Weise über die Tätigkeit des Werkbundes, über Architektur, Kunstgewerbe, Photographie, Film, über die Kunst der zwanziger Jahre, über Bauhaus, De Stijl, Neue Sachlichkeit, etc. Hervorragender Mitarbeiterstab” (Bolliger). - Contains issues with articles on the redesign of façades along Berlin’s streets, urban expansion in Amsterdam-West, a special issue on textile and silk weaving in Krefeld, an issue focusing on book art and design, illustrations of book bindings and designs, notably from the Rupprecht Press, as well as, in the final issue, contributions by El Lissitzky, F. Léger, Karel Teige, Moholy-Nagy, Walter Dexel, etc.; plus a special issue on the Werkbund exhibition: e.g. 1932 in Cologne and along the Rhine, on permanent structures by Pressa, and much more.
