Cabinet Portrait Album (Family album) (1960s/70s)

Album containing 77 mounted photo collages, albumin and silver gelatine prints, or retouched historical black-and-white portraits, visiting cards and cabinet-size photo collages, as well as 4 loose photo collages included with the album, some featuring glossy images and clippings from books and advertising leaflets. Portraits include works from the Fuchs studio, Cologne; Atelier Eder, Kempten; Oskar Goetze, Hanover; and Otto Hoppe, Celle. Mounted in a leather-bound album (circa 1900), with embossed cover, metal vignette and gilt edges. Not inscribed. Album: 34 x 20 cm; collages ranging from 8 x 5 to approx. 16 x 10 cm.

(Signs of studio work and mounting. Album without its clasp, rubbed and showing signs of wear. Collages partly showing traces of glue, partly slightly foxed/tarnished, with minor defects, tears and missing sections.)
