Provenance: Jules Michelin (1817-1870); Alfred Barrion (1842-1903); Paul M. Robinow (1865 - 1922); T. & R. Annan and Sons, Glasgow (Gallery 1855-2006).

With a dedication by Jules Michelin (1817–1870) to Madame Ed. Lièvre, presumably the wife of the famous cabinetmaker Édouard Lièvre (1828–1868), with whom he was friends. Michelin, himself an artist and engraver, was published – like J. F. Millet – by the famous printer Auguste Delâtre, who also produced the publisher’s mark on the printing plate. Michelin’s two sons, Édouard and André, founded the famous tyre company in 1888.
