(Stained and mottled. Endpapers stamped and inscribed; bookplate of Friedrich-Franz IV, Ludwigslust. The title page, dedication, preface, first page of the index and pages 521 and 522 are bound in as copies. The last page of the index, the first page of the text and the reverse of the last plate contain scribbles in blue coloured pencil. Plate XXXXVI has a small tear at the edge. Browned and with foxing in places.)

The first supplementary volume of what remains to this day an important standard work on the study of orders of chivalry. It contains numerous descriptions of newly established or modified orders of chivalry and decorations, as well as supplementary additions to the main work.
