The volume offers an early and detailed description of Munich, the capital and royal seat, its public buildings, collections, educational and cultural institutions, as well as its immediate surroundings, and is aimed equally at travelers and locals. Published during the reign of King Ludwig I, the guide documents Munich’s rapid growth and its prestigious expansion and redevelopment.
