Lowndes II, 833. – In 1786, the British officer travelled from Bushehr to Shiraz, where he lived with a Persian family for eight months. “He painted such an excellent picture of this city as no one before him had done, and only a few days after him” (Henze). – “This volume, amidst much valuable and interesting information, contains an account of the remains of the Palace of Persepolis” (Lowndes).
