Yakushi B 632 a. – First edition of the travelogue, which proved so popular that the Scottish explorer and author Burnes was knighted in 1838.
- On the orders of the highest government authorities, he travelled up the River Indus in 1831–32 and on across the Hindu Kush to Bukhara, carrying out surveys along the way and monitoring the Russian presence in the region in order to prepare for the British advance into Central Asia.
