Kainbacher 450; Schnee, German Colonial Lexicon, vol. III, pp. 706ff. — Reports from the German Protectorates, Supplement No. 1. Weule was a geographer and ethnologist and later director of the Leipzig Museum of Ethnology, whose collection grew fivefold under his leadership—a fact that is viewed rather controversially today, as the acquired objects also included “war booty” from the Maji-Maji War. The color-printed supplement mentioned is the frontispiece. Handwritten inscription on the cover: “H. Jeule, Th. Sippel.”
