Rehfeldt, Walter: Was mir in Deutsch Ostafrika begegnete. Typoskript. No place and no year (1940). 28,8 x 20 cm. With 26 plates with mounted illustrations, 271 leaves (without 27, 32 and 65). Cloth-bound with a spine label and title on the front cover.

These memoirs are dedicated to the author’s mother on 11 September 1940. The author took part in the war in German East Africa and was presumably there from 1908 to 1917. He wrote these memoirs whilst a prisoner of war from 1917 onwards. This version contains handwritten corrections and additions to the text. The accompanying images are also by Rehfeldt, who also published a portfolio of illustrations from East Africa.
