Alongside Tix and Büning, many prominent representatives from industry, such as A.E.G., Henschel, Krupp, Stinnes and I.G. Farben, took part in this study tour. Among the factories visited were, amongst others, the Tinius Olsen testing machine factory and the American Society for Testing Materials in Philadelphia, the Sparrows Point plant of Bethlehem Steel Corp. in Baltimore, the National Bureau of Standards and the Ford River Rouge plant in Washington. Tix, who worked as plant manager of the rolling mills at the Bochumer Verein für Gußstahlfabrikation – a company involved in the armaments industry – was charged at the Nuremberg Trials as a member of the industrial elite; this report, too, is rife with nationalistic and racist ideas. Excluding the folder containing drawings and floor plans.
