Nr. 33 von 55 Ex. (GA 350), der von Künstler und Herausgeber signierten Vorzugsausgabe auf handgeschöpftem Montval-Papier, die außerdem eine Suite mit 22 OrRad. auf Arches und Rives enthält. Die Radierungen tragen im unteren Plattenrand das Monogramm Rouaults mit der Jahreszahl 1928. - Chapon S. 50 ff. The Artist & The Book, S. 270: "Rouault was fifteen years in completing these plates, which he began in 1916. It has been shown that his original gouache sketches were transfered by photography to the copperplate, which the artist then worked over with etching, aquatint, and drypoint to attain the dark and heavy texture ... Although Ubu shocked and affronted the public, the grotesque little monster made a place for himself in the 20th century" (The Artist & The Book).
